To quote my favourite Guru Mon, "No matter what is going on in our lives finding the little moments that bring us some joy reminds us what we are here for...
to love life.
I find that on a tough week, reminding myself of the pockets of joy puts everything into perspective.
On the great weeks, it's worth doubling the joy with a look back."
So here are my first, coming at a great time after a rough week.
Pride, from preparing my husband's newly favourite meal for his 51st birthday
Realizing I'm relying less and less on Google Translate to read and write Swedish
The pitter patter of sleepy feet entering our room at 5 every morning
Fresh flowers delivered by happy eyes
Sweet cinnamon tea with a sweet friend
Saying No to an unnecessary expense
And finally, This:
Share your Joy Pockets!

Wonderful Joy Pockets ~ Delightful~thanks, namaste, Carol (A Creative Harbor)
Love that picture! Amazing how they sleep when left to their own devices.
"Saying No to an unnecessary expense" has got to be a good one...especially in Sweden where everything is so freaking expensive!
"relying less and less on Google Translate to read and write Swedish"
you superstar! my Serbian is as bad as last time you were here.
wait, FIVE AM!? that's a JOY pocket? lol
sweet pic, he's grown so much!
glad you joined in, another peek into your days.
Congrats on getting better at Swedish!! Such a great thing to speak more than one language :). Cinnamon is one of my favorites! And with a friend is even better. And that pic is too cute!
Have a lovely weekend!!
Very sweet. Kids and pets sleep in the most uncomfortable positions!
Welcome to joy pockets! Happy Birthday to your husband, it has been my husband's birthday too, nothing like truly pleasing the man you love with good edibles. Beautiful child. xoxo
Wonderful Joy Pockets Jenn!! I'm so glad to be able to hear your voice here again :) Your son is getting so big. I love how you write "fresh flowers delivered by happy eyes." There's a poet hiding in you, my friend :)
Lovely pockets! And cinnamon tea! That sounds amazing. Have a great week!
OMG!!!! Came back from a going away party (sad) to all these beautiful comments (Happy!).
@Carol: Thanks and Hi!
@Carin: Tell me about it. It was tickets to the circus. We went just before the summer and I was tempted to go again as the little guy loved it but...at $200 for the 3 of us, I said, "Nej" so "Yay!"
@Mon: As usual, thanks for the inspiration. The 5 thing is him sleepwalking into our room and crawling into our bed with us to finish off his sleep. Half the time I don't even hear/feel him..ha! He sleeps in till about 8:30 on the weekends so that should be a joy pocket for next week..ha!
@MJ: Thanks!
@M&M: How come we never wake up with our heads hanging off the side of the bed?
@Goose: Thanks!
@SeptemberMom: Thanks for the warm welcome back. What a compliment. This from a phenomenal poet!
@Cinnamon: Thanks!
You guys are the best. Thanks so much for reading and commenting :-)
Great picture! To be a kid again and be able to sleep whenever and wherever :). May you have a joy-filled weekend!
congrats to your emancipation from Google translate! I wish I could say the same about my Dutch skills...
Joy Pockets, what a wonderful, uplifting idea! I have been experiencing so many "moments of panic" lately, it may be more beneficial to focus on those things that bring joy instead of stress. Awesome entry!
